Everyone who uses TradesMen Network agrees to follow these guidelines. They apply to all content, communication, and activity on our website and mobile app. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.
1. Mission & Values
TradesMen Network exists to:
- Build a trusted network for tradespeople and companies
- Encourage professional communication and real-world opportunity
- Keep users safe and protect privacy
These guidelines support that mission. We ask every member to help us maintain a platform where skilled professionals can connect, find work, and grow their careers with confidence.
2. Respectful Conduct
- Treat people with respect, even in disagreement
- Use professional language in posts, messages, and comments
- Do not target individuals or groups with hostility
We are a professional network. Constructive criticism is welcome; personal attacks are not.
3. Harassment & Bullying
Prohibited:
- Insults, humiliation, stalking, or intimidation
- Repeated unwanted contact after being asked to stop
- Encouraging others to harass someone
- Coordinated campaigns of abuse against an individual
If someone asks you to stop contacting them, respect that boundary. Continued contact after a clear request to stop may result in immediate account action.
5. Sexual Content & Exploitation (Zero Tolerance)
Prohibited:
- Any sexual content involving minors, including implied content
- Solicitation, exploitation, or grooming behavior
- Non-consensual sexual content of any kind
- Sexually explicit material in profiles, posts, or messages
This is a zero-tolerance policy. Violations involving minors are reported to the appropriate authorities immediately.
6. Violence & Threats
Prohibited:
- Threats of violence or physical harm
- Instructions encouraging real-world harm
- Glorifying violence directed at individuals or groups
- Content intended to incite fear or panic
Credible threats of violence may be reported to law enforcement.
11. Intellectual Property
- Only post content you own or have permission to use
- Respect copyrights and trademarks
- Do not use another tradesperson's portfolio photos as your own
We may remove content upon receipt of a valid complaint from the rights holder.
13. Messaging, Media & Attachments
- No harassment, threats, or spam in direct messages
- Do not send explicit or unwanted content
- Do not send malicious files or suspicious links
- Report messages that feel unsafe using the Report button
Our messaging system is designed for professional communication. Keep it that way.
15. Reporting & Enforcement
Use the "Report" buttons on posts, profiles, messages, and groups where available. You may also use our Report an Issue page.
Our team reviews reports and may examine content, accounts, and related activity. Possible actions include:
- Content removal — offending content is taken down
- Warning — the account holder is notified of the violation
- Temporary restrictions — limited access to features for a set period
- Suspension or permanent ban — account access revoked
- Referral to authorities — in severe cases involving credible threats, exploitation, or illegal activity
We aim to review reports promptly and act fairly, but we reserve the right to take action at our discretion to protect the community.
16. Appeals
If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal through our Support page.
- Provide clear context explaining why the action should be reconsidered
- Include links to relevant content or conversations
- Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the original reviewer when possible
17. Safety Tips (Web & Mobile)
- Be cautious when sharing phone numbers, addresses, or personal details
- Use in-app messaging until you trust the other party
- Meet in public for first meetings when applicable
- Verify company information and credentials before accepting work
- If something feels unsafe, stop communication and report immediately
- Keep your account credentials secure and do not share your password
