Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 13, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how TradesMen Network (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at tradesmennetwork.pro. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your options for managing them.

This policy applies to the TradesMen Network website. Our mobile applications may use different technologies and are subject to separate disclosures within those applications.

1. What This Policy Covers

This Cookie Policy covers the use of cookies, local storage, and similar browser-based technologies on the TradesMen Network website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information more broadly.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) through your browser. They allow websites to recognize your device and remember information about your visit.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies including:

  • Local storage: A browser feature that allows websites to store data locally on your device. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not sent to the server with each request.
  • Tracking pixels: Small images embedded in emails that allow us to determine whether an email campaign has been opened.

Throughout this policy, we refer to all of these technologies collectively as “cookies” unless a distinction is necessary.

3. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website for the following purposes:

  • Keeping you signed in to your account
  • Protecting your account and our platform against unauthorized access
  • Maintaining your session state as you navigate the site
  • Remembering certain interface preferences
  • Understanding how visitors use our website so we can improve it
  • Supporting payment processing through our third-party payment provider

4. Types of Cookies We Use

We organize the cookies used on our website into the following categories:

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function. They enable core features such as authentication, session management, and security protections. The website cannot function properly without them.

Cookie / Technology Purpose Duration
tradesmen_session Maintains your login session and keeps you authenticated as you navigate the site. Contains a unique session identifier. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity, or when you close your browser (depending on your “Remember me” selection at login).
CSRF token Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. This security measure prevents unauthorized actions on your behalf. Stored within your session. Expires with the session.

These cookies are set with the HttpOnly flag (not accessible to JavaScript), the Secure flag (transmitted only over HTTPS), and a SameSite attribute to help protect against cross-site attacks.

Can you disable these? No. These cookies are required for the website to function securely. If you block them via your browser, you will not be able to log in or use authenticated features.

4.2 Functional / Preference Cookies (Local Storage)

We use your browser’s local storage to remember certain preferences and improve your experience. Local storage data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Technology Purpose
Recent search history Remembers your recent search queries so you can quickly repeat them.
Broadcast dismissals Tracks which system announcements you have dismissed so they are not shown again.
Install prompt dismissal Remembers if you dismissed the “Add to Home Screen” prompt so it does not reappear.
Navigation state (staff) For staff users, remembers which navigation sections are expanded or collapsed.

Can you disable these? You can clear local storage through your browser’s developer tools or settings. Clearing this data will reset saved preferences but will not affect your ability to use the site.

4.3 Analytics / Performance Cookies

When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized information about how visitors use our website. This helps us understand which pages are popular, how users navigate the site, and where we can make improvements.

Cookie Set By Purpose Duration
_ga Google Distinguishes unique visitors. Used to compile statistical reports on website activity. 2 years
_ga_* Google Maintains session state for Google Analytics. 2 years
_gid Google Distinguishes unique visitors within a 24-hour period. 24 hours

Our Google Analytics implementation is configured with IP anonymization enabled. Google Analytics is controlled by a feature flag and may not be active on all pages at all times. It is not loaded on staff or administrative pages.

Can you disable these? You can block Google Analytics cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a browser opt-out add-on that prevents your data from being used by Google Analytics across all websites. Please note that TradesMen Network does not currently provide an in-site cookie preference center to selectively opt out of analytics cookies.

4.4 Third-Party Service Cookies

Certain pages on our website load resources from third-party services that may set their own cookies. We do not control the cookies set by these third parties.

Service Where Used Purpose
Stripe Billing and payment pages Stripe provides our payment processing. When you visit billing or checkout pages, Stripe may set cookies to enable secure payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe’s cookies are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts All pages (via service worker caching) We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may collect usage data subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, social media tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising technologies on our website.

5. Email Tracking Technologies

Some emails we send as part of email campaigns may contain a small transparent image (a “tracking pixel”) that tells us whether the email was opened and when. This helps us understand which communications are useful to our users. We may also use redirect links in emails to track clicks.

Each email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also manage your email and notification preferences in your account settings.

Email tracking pixels do not install cookies on your device. They are loaded as images when you open the email and transmit limited information (the fact that the email was opened, the approximate time, and general device information).

6. How to Manage Cookies

You have several options for managing cookies:

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete some or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies (this will prevent you from logging in)

Refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions on managing cookies. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from using authenticated features of our website.

Google Analytics Opt-Out

To specifically opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install Google’s official browser add-on.

What We Do Not Currently Offer

TradesMen Network does not currently provide an in-site cookie preference center or consent management tool that allows you to selectively enable or disable categories of cookies. We recognize that such a tool may be expected and are evaluating options to provide more granular in-site controls in the future.

7. Regional Privacy Information

If you have questions about how cookies relate to your personal information, you may contact our privacy team at the address listed below.

8. Relationship to Our Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy is part of, and should be read in conjunction with, our Privacy Policy. Where this Cookie Policy addresses the specific technologies used on our website, the Privacy Policy provides broader information about our data practices, your rights, and how to contact us about privacy matters.

9. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, applicable laws, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
